The material used below would be concrete cells.
This perspective view emphasizes the dramatic shape and structure of the building and a good view of the book-shaped glass ceiling. I gained inspiration from our uni's iconic building. As you can see, the ceiling is folded just like a open book.
This is facade of the building in a section form. As you can see,it is built on rock and stones. It shows the orientation of the columns and the concrete columns embeded in the underground part. Together, they form a stable structure. The exhibition boards on the second floor are all suspended from the ceilings which saves a lot more space.
The picture indicates the view from the staircase to the second floor. The textures on the ground is originated from my drawings. The floor is marble charactered.
It is designed as a moving staircase which delivers people on it with a cortex handrail . With the moving staircase, visitors will not be that tired walking through the long roads. Across the staircase is a exhibition borad introducing Fiona Hall, so people will get a well-rounded knowledge about the artist they visit.
The overall view shows the main walk road and the glass ceiling. I designed the walk road(marble charactered) in order to creat a step between the exhibiton place and the outside society, because I think art need space and tolerence and the gallery is where you can gain spiritual enjoyment which is holy.
(Reference:The trees alongside and the fountain on the road are the models I downloaded from 3D warehouse.)
